Phyllis M. Dixon, 97, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026.
She was born July 4, 1928 to Joseph H. and Lola M. (Cannon) Chappell in Hemple, Missouri.
Phyllis married Richard L. Dixon on September 7, 1946. They were married 67 years before his passing in 2013.
An active member of Patee Park Baptist Church, she served with unwavering devotion, leaving an indelible mark through her involvement with the Patee Park Food Pantry and the prayer chain, which she participated in for both Patee Park Baptist and St. Mary Catholic Church.
Phyllis's life was a tapestry of moments filled with the joy of simple pleasures. Her love for cooking and baking was legendary; her kitchen was the heart of her home, where aromas of freshly baked bread and pastries constantly wafted through the air. It was a place of gathering, laughter, and the sharing of stories with her beloved family. She also enjoyed watching the St. Louis cardinals.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; sons, Ricky and Michael Dixon; siblings, Stewart, Leon, Lyle Chappell and Euphora Crane; and son-in-law, Doug Seiter.
Survivors include her children, Alana Nash (Pat), David Dixon, Tim Dixon (Terri), and Lori Seiter; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Rosemary Dixon and Barbara Dixon; siblings, Frances Green (John) and Carol Noel; numerous nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Monday, February 16, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will gather with friends two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Patee Park Baptist Church.
