New trial date set for Skidmore man facing murder charges in April incident

A plea trial for the Skidmore man facing murder charges stemming from an April incident has been set for next month.

 20-year-old  Keevin J. Maupin has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.  Maupin allegedly killed two women, 32-year-old Liberty Moore and 58-year-old Karen Babcock, inside a house north of Skidmore.  Maupin also faces charges from his time in the Nodaway County jail after he attempted to escape and assaulted jail staff multiple times.

Maupin was originally scheduled to appear in court on Monday, but is now set to appear in the Nodaway County Courthouse for the plea trial on Monday, September 14th.
