The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce is celebrating National Small Business Week next week with a series of events designed to help educate small business owners or those looking to start a business on some of the best practices.

National Small Business Week begins May 4th and runs through May 8th. Chamber spokeswoman Kristi Bailey says the week will start simple, encouraging residents to go and visit some of St. Joseph's small businesses.

Bailey says the first events on the week will come the following day on Tuesday, May 5th.

"We have a small business coffee and conversation at Solace Coffee at 8:30am," Bailey says on the KFEQmunnity show. "So, that's something we do every month, where we encourage small business owners to come and talk about issues they're facing with each other, but then we have a virtual event, Show Me Network virtual workshop a builders showcase, where you can see real AI skills in use."

Wednesday will feature the Chamber's usual Cup of Joe gathering, as well as two more virtual workshops. A virtual workshop bootcamp will also be held on Thursday, and one more virtual workshop will be held on Friday as well.

Also, on Thursday there will be a Small Business Forum Bailey says at the Launchpad, which will house all of the events around Small Business Week.

"There will be some QuickBooks training, and some live q and a with some local bankers and lenders, because that's also another big part of owning a small business, is do you have the money to get it started and keep it going?" Bailey explains.

You can view the Chamber of Commerce's website and calendar of events for more information on each event during Small Business Week. Each event may have a cost to attend and will be held at the Launchpad in downtown St. Joseph.
