Next month, two downtown St. Joseph businesses will team up to host an inaugural family friendly event, helping to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater St. Joseph.

The Den and Tee'd Up Indoor Golf are partnering up to host the first ever "Putt Putt Local Spaces Crawl" on June 13th around downtown St. Joseph, showing off downtown businesses in a fun and family friendly way.

Owner of The Den Adrienne Waggoner says at The Den, they already host two wine and beer walks.

But, Waggoner says, with several businesses in downtown unable to participate in an event like that, came the idea for an event to bring families downtown.

"And show even more that is happening, so we decided hey, putt putt is fun, people are used to doing that as crawls, it's a way to explore, it's a way to get out, and it can be for any age, adults, children, whatever," Waggoner says on the KFEQmunnity show.

"So, it seemed very natural to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters on it, because they are a downtown nonprofit as well, and we decided let's throw everybody all together and have some fun."

Waggoner says the event will start at Tee'd Up, where participants in the event will get their scorecards and maps of downtown.

"There's going to be over 18 places, so you can play a full round of golf doing this, you don't have to hit all of them up," Waggoner explains. "We're going to have prizes for Best Dressed Team, Best Team Name, Best Score, you'll be able to explore at your leisure downtown, that's why we have it going from 12pm to 6pm, and you can do some shopping, do some eating, you can do a little drinking that's ok to we don't mind."

"Teams of four are $40 to sign up, the proceeds are going to Big Brothers Big Sisters, it's just a really great way to get out and have some fun and discover downtown."

Participants can expect to enjoy drinks, snacks and other goodies at nearly 30 participating local businesses. Raffles and prizes will be available throughout the day, with prizes also if you make a hole in one.

The event will run from 12pm to 6pm on June 13th. You can sign up online for the event with your team of four or more by clicking HERE, or you can also sign up the day of the event.
