We remain in an extreme cold weather advisory through noon Thursday.
Northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas can expect wind chills as low as 28 below freezing. When it is this cold, frostbite on exposed skin can occur within 30 minutes.
The St. Joseph School District has called off classes today. It is an AMI day, virtual learning, for students. Employees should follow Scenario A.
The Savannah R3 School District is closed today. School officials say if weather permits and the district is able to have school on Friday, buses will run on alternative routes.
Riverside USD 114 plans a tw0-hour delayed start today with no preschool and no breakfast. The northeast Kansas district will run buses on alternative routes on the paved roads.
Northwest Missouri State University has closed its Maryville campus today.
