David Gary St. Clair, 71, passed away on June 4, 2023, in Chillicothe, Missouri. Born on December 13, 1951, in Cameron, Missouri to Elwood and Mary (George) St. Clair, David was a kind and generous man who touched the lives of many with his handy skills and warm heart.
A graduate of Cameron High School, David moved to Chillicothe at the age of 19, and went on to work as the head of maintenance for the Chillicothe School District. He also owned and operated David St. Clair Remodeling & Maintenance for over 30 years. David was a member of the Chillicothe Baptist Church.
David's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for gardening and landscaping. He took great pride in his work and enjoyed spending time outside, nurturing his plants and creating beautiful spaces for his family and friends to enjoy. David's love for animals was also apparent, especially in his fondness for his pet cats. Sophie, his favorite cat, held a special place in his heart and brought him much joy and companionship.
Family was of the utmost importance to David, and he cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He enjoyed visiting family members and attending family reunions. David's hardworking nature and dedication to his family were evident in the many family vacations he planned, taking his loved ones on trips all over the United States and visiting several National Parks.
David was the beloved husband of Lavene St. Clair, with whom he shared 27 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including their children Ellen Sue Metz (Ray), Christy St. Clair, and David St. Clair, Jr.
Other survivors include his mother, Violet St. Clair; siblings, Joann Cope, Linda Bell, Jean Gardner (David), Rosemary Joudon, Caralyn Burris, James Farr (Jackie), and Robert Farr; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his father, Elwood St. Clair; mother, Mary George Eaton; brothers, Joseph St. Clair and Bob Allen Parsons; sister, Debbie Shroder; and son, Daniel St. Clair.
