A three-vehicle wreck in south St. Joseph late Monday afternoon left a woman with severe burns.
St. Joseph police report a semi tractor-trailer ran into the back of a car waiting to turn from Mason Road onto South 14th Street. The impact pushed the car into oncoming traffic and it burst into flames after hit nearly head on. Rescue crews had to help the driver, a woman described to be in her 30s, escape the burning vehicle.
The woman has not been identified. She suffered major burns.
The crash forced the closing of Mason Road for hours. The investigation continues.
