Darlene Beatrice Saxby was born unto Walter and Beatrice (Wilson) Saxby on April 5, 1934 in Pueblo, Colorado.&nbsp; She was the eldest of four sisters.Darlene graduated with a teaching degree from La Sierra College (Riverside, California) in 1952.&nbsp; She was an elementary school teacher and librarian in California and Arizona for her entire career.&nbsp; She was a helpful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.&nbsp; In retirement, she moved to Albany, Missouri in 2004 to live with her sister Esther and brother-in-law Clay DeMelt.&nbsp; She enjoyed working in the garden, crocheting, ceramics, and making clothes for her family.Darlene passed away December 7, 2023 at PineView Nursing Home in Stanberry, Missouri.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Beatrice Saxby, her sister Shirley Daniel, and her sister Opal Eldridge. &nbsp; She is survived by her sister Esther (&amp; Clayton) DeMelt of Stanberry, and numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp; The family will hold a private memorial ceremony for Darlene in spring of 2024.Cremation under the direction of Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville.&nbsp;
