2 hospitalized after DeKalb County crash

DEKALB COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 2p.m. Friday in DeKalb County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2003 GMC Yukon driven by Jeffrey S. Kirkpatrick, 36, Elwood, Kan., was southbound on MO 31 approaching Ketchum Road two miles north of Clarksdale.

A 2001 Buick LeSabre driven by Brenda K. McManus, 76, Clarskdale, was westbound on Ketchum Road and pulled out in front of the Yukon. The Youkon struck the front passenger side of the Buick.

DeKalb-Clinton County Ambulance transported McManus and Kirkpatrick to Mosaic Life Care. Two other passengers in the Yukon refused treatment at the scene.  Kirkpatrick and a passenger in the Yukon were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
