A 78-year-old inmate at the women’s prison in Chillicothe has died.
The Missouri Department of Corrections reports Barbara Banning died early Sunday evening at the Chillicothe Correctional Center. Banning was serving a 25-year sentence for second-degree murder and first-degree arson from Lawrence County.
Banning began serving her prison sentence in 2006.
The Department of Corrections reports the Banning died of apparent natural causes.
