Adam Wainwright allowed just one hit over seven innings and the St. Louis Cardinal bullpen finished the job as the Cardinals blanked the Royals 10-0 Wednesday at Kaufmann Stadium.

St. Louis teed off on Royals pitcher Kris Bubic in the top of the first, scoring five runs in that frame. Nolan Arenado started things off with a three-run bomb in the first. Tyler O’Neill triped in the first and then homered in the ninth inning for good measure.

The Royals have now dropped five of their last six and lose two out of three in this series. Kansas City has now been shut out five times this season as well.

The Royals have an off day Thursday, and then open a three-game series at Baltimore Friday. Friday’s game starts at 6:05 central.
