Ricky Allen Butler, 64, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, February 24, 2025, with his sister Rita by his side. He was met by his parents; cousin Emilio, nephew Timothy; and best friend Ace.
He was born on October 30, 1960, to Oran and Beverly (Pinzino) Butler, in Smithville, Missouri.
Ricky, a proud graduate from Oak Park High School, channeled his vision into reality by being self-employed and passionately working towards opening his own thrift shop, a testament to his resourcefulness and hard work. His penchant for “treasure hunting” through dumpster diving was not just a pastime, but a reflection of his belief that value can be found in the most unexpected places.
His memory will be cherished by his children, Blake Butler (Christina), Hailey Butler, Nickole Hershley (Brandon) and Dominic Butler; grandchildren, Kai Butler and Ariella Davenport; siblings, Rita Reyes, Tina Butler, Gina Dagget, and Nicky Butler; as well as by extended family and friends who will carry forward his memory with love.
