A Buchanan County jury has found 42 year old Michael Dan Hawkins of St. Joseph guilty of first degree sodomy of a child younger than 12 years old. 

Hawkins was charged in September 2022 for the incident which occured in June of that year.

The case was tried by the Buchanan County Prosecutors Office. Sentencing will be held on August 12th.  Due to the crime, Hawkins will face a mandatory life sentence.
