*Update: This story previously reported the bridge would officially be opening following the ribbon cutting, but it will not be.
The Missouri Department of Transportation will celebrate the nearly completed Gene Field Road Bridge with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday June 26th.
The ceremony, set for 10 AM, will be on the east side of the bridge. The contractor will still be completing some work on the bridge and MoDOT reports it should open within hopefully the next week or two following the ribbon cutting
The bridge was closed after being struck by a semi last November, and was demolished in February.
