Mary Joyce “Jo” Albracht (Hancock), of Platte City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. She was 83 years old.
Born on October 13, 1942, in Wahoo, Nebraska, Jo was the daughter of Harry and Phyllis Hancock. She grew up alongside her siblings and carried with her the values instilled by her family throughout her life. Jo married Vic Albracht on September 2, 1961.Jo dedicated many years to a career in the banking industry, where she held various positions. Her work ethic and commitment were evident in every role she undertook, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike.
A woman of faith, Jo was a devoted member of Platte City United Methodist Church. She attended services regularly and found strength and community within her congregation.
Jo is lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Vic Albracht; her son, Jeff Albracht (Sherri); granddaughters Marissa Montgomery and Brooke Johnson; her sister, Cindy Bedke; and bonus son Juan Uribe (Nayibe and daughters Catalina and Valeria). In addition, she was loved by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold G. and Phyllis Hancock, and her brother, Greg Hancock.
Her memory will be cherished by those who knew her. May it bring comfort and peace to all who mourn her passing. A Visitation will be held on January 3, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Platte City United Methodist Church 14040 N Hwy.
