Juanita June McFadin, age 92 of St. Joseph, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023 in a local healthcare facility.
Juanita was born March 16, 1931, in Ottawa,KS the daughter of Gladys and Clarence Burros.
Juanita started teaching school at the young age of nineteen. She taught American history and Government in the school district of St Joseph Missouri from 1951 until retiring in 2000. She was very proud of her 48 years of teaching and would often have students contact her years later to reminisce. She was also an avid traveler visiting Europe 7 times and made 11 trips to Hawaii. She was a lover of animals and flowers in addition to her beloved family and friends.
She was baptized at the 1st Congregational Church at 13th & Jules, St Joseph, MO as a child.
Juanita married Bert McFadin in 1952. To this union they were blessed with two children, Kevin and Cynthia.
She was proceeded in death by her children Kevin, at birth, Cynthia in 2015 and her husband Bert in 2014.
She will be fondly remembered by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday at the Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at our chapel.
