Katherine W. (Jahnke) Chellew peacefully went to be with her Lord surrounded by her daughters on Thursday, May 9, 2024 after a brief illness.
Katherine married William Chellew (her soulmate) on August 26, 1956.
She was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Chellew, son Harold L. Chellew, mother Nora (Jahnke) Schottel, and brothers and sisters.
She was a member of OES Areme Chapter #461 for 50 years, and St. Paul Methodist Church. She volunteered at Mosaic Life Rheumatology. She worked for St. Joseph School District in the Nutritional Services. She participated in Needles with Moila, Beauceant with OES and Southside Fall Festival with OES. However, her true passion was sewing and crafting. She did alterations, clothing, quilts and loved to embellish everything. She loved the Chiefs, Royals, cutting grass and going on walks with her good friend Rose Marie.
She is survived by two daughters Barbara (Dennis) Adams and Brenda Dean. She has 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Services will be Monday, May 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM in our chapel. Online condolences, guest book and obituary at www.heatonbowmansmith.com.
