Myrna Cleotta Weese, 88, of Edgerton, MO passed away March 16, 2025.
She was born on June 17, 1936, to Cleo and Ida Mae (Fulton) Hopkins in Albany, MO where she grew up and attended school.
On December 25, 1952, she was united in marriage to Delbert Byrl Weese. After their marriage they moved with the Air Force and in 1959, they moved to Edgerton, MO where they made their home. Delbert passed away on April 18, 2010.
Myrna retired as a librarian from the Mid- Continent Public Library in Edgerton after several years of service. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce. Myrna served as a City Alderman and she also served on the Edgerton Pioneers Day’s Committee. She enjoyed traveling, camping with her family, canning, cooking and most of all, she loved serving her community.
She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert; her parents Cleo and Ida Mae Hopkins; her daughter Debbra Jean Riddle and her sister Marian Lee.
Myrna is survived by her son Daneth Weese, Sr.; her daughter Kathern Moore; her grandchildren Deljon Riddle, Karye Riddle, Daneth Weese, Jr., Amber (Mark) Thomas, Derek (Kacie) Weese, Sydni (Shon) Sigrist, Austin Weese, Kyle Hendricks, Miles Moore, and Megan Moore; great-grandchildren Kennedy Riddle, Gavin Riddle, Maddux Thomas, Isabelle Thomas, Landon Weese, Graysen Weese, Lennix Weese, Gavin Bernard, Jordan Hendricks, Hunter Hendricks, and Mason Hendricks; brothers Lary (Sue) Hopkins and Sterling (Chandra) Hopkins; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton, MO. Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 21st at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton, MO. Burial: Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO.
