Donald Dean Campbell, 74, of St. Joseph, MO passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by family on Monday, June 3, 2024.
He was born on October 29, 1949 in St. Joseph to the late Charles H. and Mary Alice (Smith) Campbell.
Don was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1969 to 1973.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved deer hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis K. Campbell.
He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Kathy, daughter; Jennifer (Andy) Vienhage, son; Paul Campbell, grandchildren; Bethany (Jesse), Hannah, Kendall, Brayden and two great-grandchildren, sister; Angela (Tim) Prawl, sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 -7:00 PM, on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at the Heaton~Bowman~Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM. Full Military Honors will be rendered at the conclusion of the service rendered by the U.S. Air Force and the American Legion Post 287 Honor Guard.
Inurnment of the cremated remains will take place at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
