The Savannah High School will open as usual this morning, after abruptly closing early Monday afternoon due to a potential COVID-19 outbreak.
Savannah High School officials caution against panic and say there has been no outbreak.
High school officials say they released students at one o’clock yesterday to deep clean the school as well as begin notifying anyone who might have come into contact with students and staff diagnosed with the coronavirus. The Savannah High School reports two new cases of COVID-19 and six cases total.
School officials state because the specific positive cases resulted in the potential for several students and staff contacts, a decision was made to close school early.
Students who might have come into contact with anyone who contracted COVID-19 will be notified by school officials or the Andrew County Health Department.
