Larry D. Karr, 83, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2024. He was born on July 8, 1941, in Rolla, MO, to Otto and Virginia Karr. Larry married Betty A. Magowan from Rolla on March 19, 1961, and she survives him. Additional survivors include his daughters Debbie (Doug) McManus, Julie Yurkovich, and his son Robby (Jennifer) Karr.
Larry was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Mandy Algiere, Tyler McManus, Taylor Yurkovich, Hollie Dickens, Makenzie Yurkovich, Olivia Karr, and Landon Karr. He was also a great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren and is survived by many cousins and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry D. Karr, and his son-in-law Rodney Yurkovich. Raised in the Rolla area, Larry was a hardworking individual who took great pride in his work and his home. He was the cornerstone of his family, the problem solver everyone turned to in times of need, and a loving husband, father, and grandfather (Pa).
Larry had a passion for travel and created many memorable trips with his wife and family. He enjoyed gardening, canning, and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and loved ones. Camping and hiking with family and friends were also among his favorite activities. Larry's guidance and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, St. Peter Lutheran Church. Interment Savannah Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
