88-year-old hospitalized after car strikes large tree

DAVIESS COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 11:30p.m. Thursday in Daviess County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo driven by Melvin B. Greyowl, 88, Stephan, South Dakota, was northbound on MO 13. 

The car traveled through the T intersection at the MO 6 Junction in Gallatin, struck a propane tank, traveled down an embankment into trees and struck a large tree.

Daviess County EMS transported Greyowl to Cameron Regional Medical Center. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the  MSHP.
