Roy Conner, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025.
He was born May 17, 1932 in Van Buren, Missouri, to Benjamin and Mary (Sears) Conner.
Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
On June 13, 1959, Roy married Darlene Harper. She survives of the home.
He owned and operated RC Air Conditioning for many years, then Roy’s AC Service, retiring after 50 years in the business. He also was a former member of the St. Joseph Homebuilders Association.
Roy and Darlene loved to go camping and travel, especially their annual trip to Florida for the winter.
He enjoyed spending time with family, including deer hunting and riding quad-running trails.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Steve Conner; granddaughter, Alicia Conner; son-in-law, Leonard Shewmaker; and siblings, Lucille Huett, Luther Conner, Raymond Conner, Bob Conner, Velma Moran, Effie McKee, and Charles Conner.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Darlene; children, Rodney Conner, Sandy Howell (Mark), Teresa Tupica (Mark), and Meloney Shewmaker; daughter from a previous marriage, Linda Tworek; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Griggs; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Private family services at a later date. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
