Ronald E. Wiedmaier, 75, of Easton, MO passed away at home on September 26, 2024. He was born to Gilbert Sr. and Letha Wiedmaier (Cooper) in Saint Joseph, MO.
At the age of 19 Ronald joined the Air Force and served as a Jet Engine Mechanic for a total of four years and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He spent two years and three months overseas during Vietnam and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Air and Space Commendation Medal, and the Air and Space Longevity Service Award. He was honorably discharged after four years.
Following his enlistment in the military Ronald became an Ironworker with Local #10 out of Kansas City where he retired from in 2007. He was also a lifelong farmer.
Ronald was preceded in death by his father Gilbert Sr., his mother Letha, sisters Janet Haverkamp, and Yvonne Pfleiderer and brother’s Francis, Wilfred, Edwin, and James. Survivors include sisters Nancy Garton, and Diane Crouse, and brothers Robert, Gilbert Jr., and Donald.
Visitation will be held at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel in Saint Joseph, MO on Wednesday October 2, 2024 from 5-7pm. Graveside services and interment with full military honors will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 2pm at Saint Mary’s Cemetery on the grounds of Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Easton (Hurlingen), MO.
