William (Bill) Meade, 95, born on November 30, 1930, in King City, Missouri, passed away on December 9, 2025.
William was a loving husband to Helen Stevens, whom he married in 1952. She passed in 2002. Together, they had one child, Peggy Meade Shaw. William then married Charlotte Reinschmidt in 2003. She survives of the home.
William's parents, Rev. James W Meade and Osta D Meade preceded him in death along with a brother, Marvin Lee Meade, brother James M Meade and sister Mildred Rainey.
William attended King City High School. He also served in the Marines and joined them the day after graduation. He served in the US Marines as a Staff Sergeant and served during the Korean War. He was employed by The Continental Can Company as a line maintainer until they closed. He was employed by Casey Meyers Ford as a Sales Manager for a few years. He then worked and retired from Heartland Hospitals East and West. William was a Registered Linen and Laundry Director and awarded Employee of the month for his outstanding work. He also worked, later in life, at Mid Continent Micrographics as a camera operator.
He also dedicated his time to helping those in need at the Patee Park Church Food Pantry and volunteered at the Books Revisited Bookstore.
William had a passion for collecting books and enjoying his cats. He enjoyed spending his free time reading and caring for his furry companions and was a skilled carpenter having previously owned his own cabinet business.
William will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, generosity, and love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished forever.
Farewell Services 3:00 P.M. Monday, December 15, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment King City Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Friends of the Animal Shelter of St. Joseph or the Patee Park Food Pantry.
