The 22nd annual Radio-A-Thon to benefit Camp Quality, hosted by JoeTown 107.5's Gregg Lynn is coming up on Wednesday, raising money to help send kids with cancer to Camp Quality this summer.

Lynn says Camp Quality provides kids with cancer a normal summer camp opportunity, filled with the same recreational activities every other kid gets to enjoy

"A lot of kids go up to Geiger, or they do this or do that, they go to summer camps, and these kids they don't get to have those experiences, so they get to come to Camp Quality," Lynn says on the KFEQmunnity show. "And they do the fishing and the hiking and the swimming and the boating and all that stuff like that, that they normally would miss out on."

Lynn says that there is medical staff on site that help the kids out, with some going through treatment, but the camp still gives kids the opportunity to be a kid again and enjoy camp, while giving parents a break as well.

Over the years, the event has surpassed raising $350,000 in total donations thanks to the generosity of the St. Joseph community, which Lynn says constantly steps up.

"Every year we've done well, we had a couple of down years sure where we weren't anywhere near where we wanted to be, but even looking back on the Toy Drive, economy wasn't great then and it was one of our biggest toy drives ever," Lynn explains.

Money was raised through coin jars in the community over a period of time. Coin jars were being picked up today to prepare for the Radio-A-Thon, and donations can be made online to benefit Camp Quality.

Lynn will be on site at Save On Furniture Mart on Wednesday from 6am to 5pm for the Radio A Thon, where people can come and drop off donations as well.

"Vogel's will have the food truck out there over lunch so you can buy some lunch, and you can make your donation in person if you'd like to do that," Lynn says. "I know a lot of people do, they want to come out and be a part of the event, you don't have to though, you can donate online."

Online donations can be made at JoeTown1075.com or you can also contact the Camp Quality offices and make your pledge.
