Wendy Kay Brown
1959-2025
Wendy Kay Brown, 65, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025.
She was born August 31, 1959 in Ironwood, Michigan.
Wendy married Jeffry L. Brown on July 9, 1983.
She was a fierce, devoted, loving mother and creative homeschool teacher. Her college AP-Level literature class and algebra class left lasting memories for her kids. Wendy was a lifetime caretaker for her family and many others.
Wendy also was a fabulous cook and baker, which she continued long after the children had left home. She also enjoyed crocheting, making blankets for family, and doing art with the grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was being a “Nana.” She was always excited to do art, play card games, or just play on the floor with them.
After getting saved on February 10, 1998, Wendy dedicated her life to the Lord. She served Him while providing care for the elderly and infirm, and ministering to kids through foster care, Vacation Bible School, and was a beloved Sunday School teacher to many, and also through her church families in Nebraska and in St. Joseph at Riverside Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mari Lou.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Jeff; her children, Sarah Hammons (James), Jana Brown, Laura Joy Brown, Noah Brown, and Nathanael Brown; grandchildren, LaSaura, Lahna, Laniyha, Charles, Chamera, (and another on the way), Jack, Hosanna, and Josiah; sisters, Joy Griffith (Kenny) and Lynne Hewitt (Jim); numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and her church family.
