Marvin White, 98, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025.

Marvin was born on May 17th, 1927 in Garretson, South Dakota, the son of the late Lynn and Olive (Swavely) White.

Marvin served in the U.S. Navy in 1946 to 1947 serving on the USS Tappahannock, USS Princeton, and USS Curtiss. Receiving a World War II Victory Medal at his honorable discharge. He then worked as a Custom Cabinet Maker for 55 years. He was proud of his work that is in homes throughout St. Joseph and out of state. He designed and build kitchen and bath cabinets and many unique custom projects. He also built 5 homes and sold 4, moving into the first "spec" home.

He was a member of the 17th Street Community of Christ Church. He crafted many items for the church including the podium, a wooden cross, and with the help of other church members, a large wooden cross for the temple in Independence, Missouri.

He leaves behind his wife Aleda (Spurgin) White whom he married on April 26th, 1947 in Sabetha, Kansas; daughter, Linda (Danny) McCulloch of Dyersburg, Tennessee; and son, Dan White of St. Joseph, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his mother Olive in 1929 who was struck by lightning when he was two years old. Twin sons, Donald and Ronald White; his parents, Lynn and Jessie (Welsh); brothers, Merlin and Leland White; sisters, Marjorie Anderson and Gail Phillips.

At his request Marvin has been cremated and a future service is pending for later date.
