Willard “Buddy” Lyman, 73, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
He was born July 31, 1950 in St. Joseph to Charles and Bonnie Jo (Johnson) Lyman.
After graduating from high school, Buddy enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country through two tours in Vietnam.
Buddy later was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and then a production worker for Peachtree Door.
Buddy married Dawnn Janine Smith on June 27, 1987. She survives him.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou. He also liked to watch “Game of Thrones.”
Family was important to Buddy, and he loved spending time with his kids, who were the lights of his life. Known for his sharp wit, Buddy liked to interject into conversations with random comments to shake things up.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and beloved dog, Bandit.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Dawnn; children, Michael Lyman, Samantha Brunshidle (Dylan), and Lauren Lyman; grandchildren, Braylee Lyman and Taelynn Brunshidle; other extended family members and friends.
