Ruth L. Gill, 69 years old, passed away on November 18th , 2025, in Atchison Kansas after a brief battle with cancer. Ruth L. Gill was born on April 1st , 1956, in Greenville, PA to Albert Gene and Grace Louise Moats.

Ruth had 9 brothers and sisters: Mary Weimert (William), Helen Mowry (Pete), Julie Griswold (Gary), Norman Moats (June Scott), Darla Fry (Bob), Robin Beatty (Roy Reese), David Moats (Jenny), Bobby Moats (Sara) and Albert Moats. Ruth attended Jamestown High School and graduated in 1974. Ruth worked for 44 years for UPMC Hospital in Greenville in the environmental services department.

Ruth fell in love and married Matthew Lee Gill Sr. on September 1st , 1983. They were married for 42 years and had one son, Matthew Lee Gill Jr. After her retirement, Ruth and Matthew moved to Atchison, Kanas to be close to their son and his family. Ruth was a proud grandma to two grandsons, Wyatt James and Garrett Lee Gill. You could always find Ruth cheering her grandsons on, whether it was the stage, baseball field, football field or wrestling mat. Ruth loved her family, reading, and sitting on her front porch chatting with her neighbors.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Gene and Grace Moats, an infant brother, Albert Moats as well as her brother in laws, Pete Mowry, Gary Griswold and Bill Weimert.

Ruth is survived by her spouse, Matthew L. Gill Sr Atchison, KS, their son, Matthew L. Gill Jr (Kari) and two grandchildren, Wyatt and Garrett Gill, Weston, Mo. Her siblings; Mary Weimert, Greenville PA, Helen Mowry, Jamestown PA, Julie Griswold, Greenville PA, Norman Moats (June Scott),North Carolina, Darla Fry (Bob) Jamestown PA, Robin Beatty (Roy Reese) Mercer PA, David Moats (Jenny) Pittsburg PA, Bobby Moats (Sara) Gauley Bridge, WV. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life will take place on November 24th , 2025, at the Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth Kansas from 10am-12pm. Reception will follow the services at Pirtle Winery, Weston Missouri.
