It looked like the Dekalb Tigers were going to have control of the game after a quick three play score from Devin Hall to Ryder Hawk for a 25-yard passing touchdown that led to a quick 6-0 lead but that did not slow down the run game from the St. Joseph Christain Lions 54-12 victory Friday night.

After Dekalb's first touchdown St. Joseph Christain quickly answered back in the first quarter by marching down the field with a 2-yard rushing touchdown from Cy Carlson that gave the Lions the lead 8-6 in the first quarter. That didn't stop Carlson night. He got his second touchdown of the night 2 minutes later in the first quarter from a 52-yard rushing touchdown. Carlson finished his night by leading St. Joseph Christian with four rushing touchdowns Friday night.

Not to be denied his own glory for St. Joseph Christian, Peyton Hausman finished the night with two rushing touchdowns of the night. His first touchdown came from a 1-yard touchdown early in the second quarter and his second touchdown coming late in the third quarter off a 4-yard run. Cy Carlson's brother Caedmon Carlson also got some action with a 23-yard rushing touchdown of his own late in the fourth quarter.

Dekalb though put together a strong drive late into the fourth quarter with 3:09 left to go to get into the endzone one more time finished the night with a 20-yard passing touchdown from Hall to Landon Crockett.

St. Joseph Christian Lions get the Week 1 home opener and improve to 1-0 and will take on Stewartsville-Osborn next Friday. While the Dekalb Tigers get the loss and move to 0-1 and will take on North Andrew in a home matchup.
