Darlene D. Campbell, age 97, passed away April 5, 2023 at Carriage Square Care Center, St. Joseph, Missouri. She was born October 9, 1925 in Renwick, Iowa to Lynde and Hazel (Cawood) Hayes.
Darlene grew up in Guilford, MO and married Herbert D. Campbell in 1943. They celebrated 65 years of marriage before he passed away in 2008. She retired from the Methodist Hospital after 18 years and Community Blood Center after 9 years. Darlene loved bowling, playing cards and games, and being with family.
Survivors include a son, Terry D. Campbell (Cheryl), Country Club, MO; daughters, Lynette Campbell, Fort Worth, Texas; Jeannine Randall (Jay), The Colony, Texas. Six grandchildren; Kelly (Brian) Draveling, Blue Springs, MO; Kimberly (Travis) Lawson, Country Club, MO; John (Julie) Hower, Council Grove, KS; Emily (Rex) Gibson, Southlake, TX; Jodi (James) Ogle, Frisco, TX; Jeb Randall, Humble, TX. Fifteen great grandchildren with another on the way and several nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Arthena Schildtknecht, brother Lynde "Junior" Hayes and sister-in-law, Phyllis Vaughn.
Funeral: Monday, April 10th, Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph, MO at 11:00 A.M. with visitation one hour prior.
Interment: Mount Auburn Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
