ATCHISON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect on drug and additional allegations.

Just before 11a.m. May 28, an officer observed 35-year-old Anthony Lunsford walking in the 1100 Block of Santa Fe in Atchison, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.

The officer took Lunsford into custody on Atchison and Brown County District Court warrants. During that arrest Lunsford was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

In June of 2022, police arrested Lunsford on a District Court warrant for violation of a protective order, theft, domestic battery, and intimidation of a witness.

In May of 2022, Lunsford was jailed on requested charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property in connection with an incident that occurred on April 19. Lunsford has spent time in custody numerous times over the past five years and was convicted of theft, according to online jail records.
