James Leonard Pillsbury, 88, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023.
He was born July 22, 1935 in Cedar Springs, Michigan, to Robert and Lelah (Hosler) Pillsbury.
Jim married Ilene Margaret Theise on July 21, 1956. She preceded him in death on February 6, 2023.
Jim was a square dance caller, instructor and member of the Tanglefoot Squares square dance club for many years. In his youth, he participated in roller skating shows with his mother, even performing with a roller-skating bear. He also enjoyed camping and working with his hands; he could build or repair just about anything.
He was a member of New Life Bible Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ilene; his parents; and siblings, Robert Pillsbury, William Pillsbury, and Dawn Shoemaker.
Survivors include his children, Debbi (Tim) Kogler, Diane Brown, Chris Pillsbury, Jamie (Erin) Pillsbury, and Julie (Collin) Ryan; grandchildren, Kristen Inman (Brian), Angela Kogler, Aaron Brown (Amanda), Eli Pillsbury (MacKenzie), Karly Jo Pillsbury, Tabitha Rowland, Emma Fox (Bill), Allison Ryan and Casey Ryan; and great-grandchildren, Victoria Inman, Lucas Inman, and Lyla Jo Fox.
