Eleanor Lou (Feuerbacher) Thompson, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026.
She was born December 11, 1940 in Oregon, Missouri, to Floyd and Edna (Porter) Feuerbacher.
She married Kenneth D. Thompson on December 26, 1964. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1996.
Eleanor was born and raised on a farm in Oregon, Missouri. She graduated from Oregon High School in 1958, and Gard Business School in St. Joseph. She worked at Swift & Co., McCarthy Baptist Church Daycare, Kmart, and for many years, she was the secretary for her brother’s business, Dr. John M. Feuerbacher Chiropractic Clinic. After retirement, she spent many years helping care for her grandchildren.
Eleanor was a member of McCarthy Baptist Church in St. Joseph. She enjoyed reading romance books and watching Hallmark TV movies, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Dr. John M. Feuerbacher and Dr. William P. Feuerbacher.
She is survived by her children, Sharon Vest (Russell) and Daniel Thompson (Stephanie), all of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Lindsey Pace (Seth), Kyle Vest, and Kaitlyn Thompson; one great-grandchild, Emmet Pace; sister, Norma Feuerbacher of Euliss, Texas; and many nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 28, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
