King City, MO: Carolyn Stegman, 83, of King City, MO passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at a King City care center.
She was born October 24, 1940 in rural Gentry County, Missouri the daughter of Edwin and Maxine (Gotschell) Toombs.
On April 19, 1957, she married Harlen Stegman in Union Star, MO.
Carolyn became a License Practical Nurse and served as Administrator for King City Manor. She later worked at Our Lady of Rickenbach in Clyde, MO. Carolyn was a member of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Berlin, MO, Opportunity Workshop Board and Grand River Ambulance Board. She loved camping and taking her grandchildren to the beach. She was a selfless servant. Watching Hallmark movies was one of her favorite past times.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Leisa Bryson and two sisters, Marilyn Propheter and Sherry Compton.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Harlan, of the home; son, Todd (Lisa) Stegman; son-in-law, Steve Bryson all of King City, MO; 4 grandchildren, Adrianne Hume, Andrea (Ryan) Hodge, Mariah (Jeff) Maudlin and Garrett (Johnna) Stegman; great-grandchildren, Carter, Zachary and Harper Hodge, Mackenzie (Chase) McCormick, Peyton Hume, Bryson Hume, Ruby and Rowan Stegman and Harlen and Hayden Maudlin; brother, Edwin Don (Carolyn) Toombs, St. Joseph, MO; sister, Maxie (Max) Tunks, King City, MO; brothers-in-law, Tommy Stegman, Dave Compton and Wayne Propheter, Dearborn, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 27 at Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Berlin, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, King City, MO. Burial will follow in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
