Debra Hooper 1956 - 2024

Debra Hooper, age 68, of Bean Lake, MO, died July 11, 2024, at Kansas City Hospice House surrounded by her family. 

Debbie’s life will be celebrated on Monday, July 15, 2024, with a visitation for friends and family from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to NEK-CAP, in care of the funeral home. 

Debbie was born on January 28, 1956. She was raised by her mother, Dorothy Faye (Spinner) and her stepfather, Norman H. Ellis. She attended Rushville Elementary and graduated from DeKalb High School in 1974. 

She married Howard Lee Hooper, III, on November 19, 1976, at the Rushville Christian Church and they have three children, Carrie (Aaron) Myers, Bridget Keller and Howard Lee Hooper, IV. Additional survivors include seven grandchildren, Shelby Seager (David Underwood), Cameron Seager (Mallory), Lucas Seager (Bailey), Madelyn Myers, Makayla Myers, Jaidynn Keller, Mylee Scherer; three great grandchildren, Dallas, Ruby and Ryleigh Seager; a sister, Sidwell (Jay) Jones; brother-in-law, Mike Hildman; stepbrother, Kully Ellis; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Sherre Hildman and Kim Sampson. 

Debbie owned and operated Hooper’s Greenhouse for many years. If you knew her very well, you probably still have something that she planted for you, crocheted for you or made for you. She loved creating flower arrangements, bouquets and decorating for weddings, gardening and bowling.
