Daniel R. Floyd, 81, of Fillmore, MO passed away Monday March 25, 2024 at a local hospital in St. Joseph, MO. He was born January 4, 1943 in Fillmore to Elmer & Myrtle (House) Floyd. He married Joyce Grishow on April 17, 1971 in Rosendale, MO. Danny and Joyce enjoyed 52 years of marriage and she survives of the home.
Daniel was born and raised on the farm in Fillmore. He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Thailand. After he was discharged from the Air Force he worked in construction, and he started farming in 1972. He loved to hunt, tell stories, go metal detecting, arrowhead hunting, camping, black powder shooting, panning for gold, and was a local historian. He was a talented blacksmith and loved to show and talk about all his artwork from blacksmithing. Danny had served on the Fillmore Town Council and had served as mayor of Fillmore Missouri.
Danny is survived by his wife; sons, Jeffrey Floyd of Fillmore and Bobby Dean Floyd of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Fiona Belle Floyd; sister, Sharon (David) Logan of Fillmore, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and to many friends to count.
Graveside services will be 11:00 AM at Fillmore Cemetery on Friday March 29, 2024. Interment will be in Fillmore Cemetery, Fillmore, MO. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mosaic Hospice or the Fillmore Cemetery.
