A longtime punter for the Kansas City Chiefs is ending his career in the city that he started and spent 15 years in as Dustin Colquitt signed a one day contract so he can retire as a Chief.
Colquitt spent the first 15 years of his career in Kansas City from 2005 to 2020. After that, he was signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020-21 season and the Atlanta Falcons in the 2021-22 season. He has been with the Cleveland Browns since the 2021-22 season.
Colquitt was an impactful player during his time in Kansas City, setting several franchise records. He earned Pro Bowl honors twice and was a member of the winning Super Bowl 54 team. He is also a three-time nominee for the NFL's Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, the league's most prestigious honor that recognizes players who make a difference in their community on and off the field.
Colquitt still holds records in KC, including most games played with 238 and career punting average of 44.8 yards.
The Chiefs congratulated Colquitt on his retirement on social media.
