Carolyn K. Taylor, 83, of St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at her home with family at her side, after a brief battle with cancer.
Carolyn was born on May 21, 1940 to Caryl and Ruby (Campbell) Kent in Rea, MO. They preceded her in death. She met her husband, Bill, while still in high school. Together they raised three daughters and were married for 66 years. She was a member of the King City First Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter Julie and sister Sue Meadows. Survivors in addition to her husband include daughters Shelley (Bryan) Taylor, Lowell, AR and Kristie (Brian) Burkert, St. Joseph, MO; sister Linda Slayden, St. Joseph, MO; 3 grandchildren, Jacob, Megan and Will; 3 step-grandchildren, Joanne, Beth and Devon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends and family are welcome to say their final goodbyes after 1:00 PM Sunday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith and Sidenfaden Chapel. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, July 3rd at Memorial Park Cemetery.
