Wilbur Waller, 73, of St. Joseph, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 1st.
Wilbur was born June 24, 1950 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Howard and Mary Waller. He was the youngest of three children.
As Wilbur puts it, he felt like he was on top of the world in 1968. He graduated from Stewartsville High School, started college where he met his future wife, Marilyn, to whom he was married to for 46 years; and he started his 47-year career at American Electric.
Wilbur has lived in St. Joseph for over 35 years, was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church and enjoyed teaching Sunday School Class.
Wilbur is often described as being sweet, tenderhearted and caring. He enjoyed helping others any chance he could. Wilbur liked the simpler things in life as he enjoyed a good cup of coffee, reading, meeting with his friends, telling bad Dad Jokes, watching NASCAR races, and most importantly, studying the Bible.
Wilbur’s favorite Bible verse was Romans 8:12.He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Wilbur was a devoted husband, father and a devout Christian. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marilyn.
He is survived by his daughter Tonya and husband Terrence. He has two sisters Carole Parson, and Barbara Delany (Gerald), brother-in-law Neil Coufal; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, we can’t forget his cat Tux.
Visitation will be 11:00-12:00 Wednesday, July 5th at Green Valley Baptist Church, St. Joseph. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation.
Burial: Ashland Cemetery, St. Joseph.
