Kittey Mae Kerns, 52, of St Joseph, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care. She was born October 21, 1970 in St. Joseph, daughter of Bonnie and Leo "Pete" Ballard.
She attended Benton High School. She married Gary Kerns on January 13, 1993 in St. Joseph. Kittey enjoyed fishing, cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and bird watching.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include husband, Gary Kerns, Jr. of the home, sons, Brandon Ballard (Kali Wilson) of Savannah, MO, Gary Kerns, III of St. Joseph, daughter, Kitney Kerns of St. Joseph, sisters, Kim (William) Ellsworth of King City, MO, Kellee (Mark) Gromowski of St. Joseph, Leatha Ballard of St. Joseph, and brother, Art Ballard of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Tucker, Cooper, Grayson and Delani, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Thursday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Bethel Cemetery.
