An agricultural coalition is urging the Trump administration to exempt products covered by the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement from new tariffs on Canadian goods. The Ag Coalition for USMCA says the new 50-percent duties on roughly 20-billion dollars in Canadian products could disrupt agricultural trade as negotiations between the two countries continue.Coalition spokesperson Bryan Goodman says the group supports efforts to address individual trade disputes, but believes products already covered by USMCA should remain protected from additional tariffs.

The coalition says predictable access to Canada and Mexico is especially important for American farmers, ranchers and food companies.
