The St. Joseph Mustangs won their third straight game with an 8-7 win at Sedalia Monday, improving the Mustangsā record to 5-4 in a game that stretched to 11 innings.
Lafayette alum Ike Book continues to be hot at the plate, as he went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBIs, including a home run.
Book is now batting .345 on the season, leading the team with 10 hits and nine RBIs.
Another Lafayette product, Cole Slibowski, went 2-for-4 Monday night with a run scored and an RBI as well. Book actually scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th off of a single from Slibowski.
Savannah grad Noah Bodenhausen also had a pair of hits in the victory, while Mid-Buchanan alum Brady Holden had a double.
The Mustangs head to Des Moines to face the Prospects on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
