Greg Wingfield March 24, 1950-March 4, 2026

Gregory Floyd Wingfield, born March 24, 1950, passed away on March 4, 2026 at Tiffany Care Center, Mound City.

He married Rebecca Ann Pile on October 17, 1992 at Colonial Presbyterian Church, Kansas City, MO, where the couple had met at the Thirty Something Sunday school class.

After graduating Southeast High School in Kansas City, Greg attended UMKC. With several different occupations in drafting, architectural design, and construction, Greg’s favorite job was working with homeless men at City Union Mission’s Christian Life Program.

Greg served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a medic.

His favorite hobbies involved buying, selling, and collecting antiques and collectables.

Surviving in the home is Rebecca Wingfield, wife. Others include sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marcia and Jim Jackson; sisters-in-law, Marylou Garrett, Patricia Pile, and Kay Wingfield; brother-in-law, Bob Potter; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Greg in death were his parents, Josephine and Morris Wingfield; brother, Martin Wingfield; sister, Diane Potter; brother-in-law, Robert Pile; nephew, Jason Wingfield; and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Loretta and Hollis Pile, Jr.

Greg’s loving and humorous personality will be greatly missed.

Funeral services: Wednesday, March 11, 2026, 11:00 am, Woodville Presbyterian Church. Family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10:00 am. Interment: Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials: Kansas City’s City Union Mission, 1101 E. 11th St, Kansas City, MO 64106.
