Lorraine Meadows 89, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at local health care facility. She was born March 8, 1934 in Martinsville, MO, daughter of Dorothy (Darby) and Sampson Baker. She graduated from New Hampton High School, class of 1951, and attended Platt Business College. She married Carl Meadows on October 27, 1954, spending 60 years together before he passed in 2015. Lorraine worked at American Family Insurance, where she handled Secretarial, retiring in 1996. She was an avid league bowler, loved gardening and crafts, and spending time with her family. She was also a member of Garden and Pond Club. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl Meadows, and brother, Carl Baker. Survivors include: daughters, Anita (Clifford) Larry of Kansas City, KS and Marsha (Roger) Ferris of Gower, MO, grandchildren, Dacy (Stephanie) Corlee, Darby (Meghan) Clymer, Mike (Katie) Fattig, Amanda Aubuchon, and Chad DeSpain, and 21 great-grandchildren. Graveside Funeral Service and Interment will be 11:00 am Monday, January 8, 2024 at King Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
