Francie Louise Davidson 86, of St. Joseph, MO passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 12, 2026 in Cosby, MO. She was born on November 16, 1939 to Henry Clay & Mary Katherine (Alsup) Herring. She married Junior Davidson on January 3, 1960 at King Hill Church in St. Joseph and he preceded her in death in 2021.
Francie was an uncommonly kind and warm person who saw the best in people and the world around her. She spent her life helping those around her regardless of convenience, circumstance, or relationship. She lived her life to honor Jesus, and touched countless lives. She was a person of extraordinary humor and good will, and could spend hours talking on the phone with her family and watching Leave it to Beaver. She was a wonderful painter, story teller, cook, confidant, and prankster. She was the friend you did not know you needed, and the mother you could not live without.
Survivors include: her sons Michael Davidson and Jody Davidson both of St. Joseph; daughters Peggy Phinney of St. Joseph and Tammy (Shawn) Hoecker of Cosby, MO; brothers Jerry (Pauline) Herring of St. Joseph and Carl Herring of St. Joseph; sister Mary Davidson (George) of Clarksdale, MO; grandchildren Shawn Davidson, David Phinney, Shaun Phinney, Tiffany Phinney, Jacob (Amanda) Hoecker, Johnathan Hoecker, and Gabriel Hoecker; great-grandchildren Devanee Phinney, Makayla Phinney, Lyrick Phinney, Tre’Jaun Titworth, Ky’Rell Phinney, and Nova Hoecker. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son; Allen Davidson; siblings, Henry C. Herring Jr, Faye Woolsey, Shirley Miller, Peggy Davidson, Karen Tworek, and Sherry Gail Stufflebean.
Visitation and family receiving hours will be Monday, February 16, 2026 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Breit Hawkins Funeral Home in Savannah, MO. Funeral Services will be 10:00am Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Breit Hawkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Freeman Chapel Cemetery, Easton, MO.
