Dave Riggert had a chance to catch up with Lafayette head football coach Eric McDowell as he previews the 2020 season for the Fighting Irish. McDowell enters his third season as head coach at LHS.
Lafayette went 5-5 last season and they'll open their season Friday at Harrisonville. The Irish were scheduled to play Carnahan High School from St. Louis in week one, but Carnahan wasn't able to play the game due to their COVID-19 regulations. Lafayette then had to search for a new opponent and they found Harrisonville in a similar situation so they were able to finalize a deal on Sunday.
The Fighting Irish will kick off at Harrisonville Friday at 7:00 p.m.
