Sheriff: Wanted Kan. suspect captured after he has flat tire

BROWN COUNTY —The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson County deputies and investigators were jointly working to locate a person of interest in a Brown County incident that occurred Thursday night, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

On Friday night, deputies in both counties believed the person of interest may be located near T4 Road near the Shawnee County line in southeastern Jackson County.

A Jackson County deputy located a vehicle with a flat tire near T.4 Road on 94th Road in Jackson County that appeared to have a flat tire, according to Morse.

Deputies recognized the male passenger as being the Brown County person of interest identified as Phillip A. Doerr, 26, of Horton.

Doerr allegedly provided a false name and was subsequently arrested by deputies.

He is being held on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal possession of a firearm. Doerr was also wanted on a Topeka parole warrant.

The driver, Shelli Renea Gibbs, 51, of Topeka was arrested by deputies on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and vehicle registration violations.
