The St. Joseph School Board will need a new member after Rick Gehring announced his resignation from the board during Monday's annual reorganization meeting.
No information was given as to why Gehring chose to step away from the board, but he did mention having a "hard time" continuing his position on the board and is looking to "protect his peace" during the meeting.
The Board of Education will seek out applications from community members to fill Gehring's position. As of now, applications are not open and there is no set date for when the board will vote on gaining a new member.
